CityNews – On 1st November at Chiang Mai Town Hall Wichian Puttiwinyu, Chiang Mai Governor, presided over the opening of the Kick Off Campaign, that aims to solve Chiang Mai’s perennial smog problem.

Empty promises from previous governors for the last decade or so which pledged to solve the recurring problem have come under heavy criticism as each year the pollution problem is the same. Nonetheless, the Kick-Off aims to put an end to pollution in Chiang Mai for good.

Wichian said that the smog problem affected people’s health and quality of life, as well as tourism in Chiang Mai. He said it was necessary for every sector to cooperate to help Chiang Mai become a more popular tourist destination with sustainable environment management.
