Governor warns against complacency

Following worldwide news of resurgence of the virus, Governor of Chiang Mai Charoenrit Sanguansat has come out to warn us against being complacent and urges Chiang Mai residents and citizens to continue to take all set safety measures seriously.

In spite of Chiang Mai being the first province to have registered a case of coronavirus, it has been nearly two months now with zero new local cases (a few cases of arrivals, who have all been identified, contact traced, quarantined and treated).

While government officials have been ensuring businesses and places of public gatherings maintain safety measure protocols and that all channels are used to cointinue to urge the public to comply, said the governor, there are many reports of people who are beginning to refuse to wear masks, social distance, check in with the Thai Chana app, or regularly use hand sanitiser.

He urges us all to continue to follow all recommended guidelines so that Chiang Mai doesn’t have to shut down again due to a resurgence of the virus.
