CityNews – The Chiang Mai Zoo’s doctors are working around-the-clock to save the life of a heavily pregnant deer found in Wiang Pa Pao district of Chiang Rai.
According to villagers, the deer was seen coming out of the jungle on the 4th September, looking in very bad condition. It had been attacked by dogs and had bite wounds all over it’s body.
Villagers at Ban Rong, Mae Chai Dee sub district took the deer in to care for her.
A few days later someone approached the villagers offering them 16,000 baht for the deer but the villages felt bad for the deer and didn’t want her killed, so turned down the offer.
Unfortunately her condition worsened so they contacted authorities. The deer is now under medical care at the zoo and doctors give her a 50-50 chance of survival.
