CityNews – The body of a local man, 63-year-old Boonpluen Wongsamran, was found floating in a canal in the Hang Dong area, on August 5.
According to locals, Boonpluen often drunk alcohol and slept on a pavilion that overhangs the canal.
After the body was found, Police were informed by residents in the area that they had seen him drinking and sleeping at the pavilion the night before.
Police believe the man was drunk and accidentally fell into the canal while sleeping.
There was no sign of foul play and the body was taken to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for an autopsy.
