According to Pornthep, in spite of it being the rainy season, tourists are still visiting the park in large numbers. These new measures hopes to reduce the number of accidents and provide safety to all visitors.

Rescue officers and the police are stationed at certain points to help in any emergency. Warning signs have been set up at waterfalls to prevent tourists from entering at-risk areas, as well as signs warning of dangerous routes and pathways.

Doi Inthanon National Park has also recently introduced a monsoon promotion according to the government’s policy to support Thai tourism — Thai residents will receive a 50 baht discount when visiting the national park on Mondays to Fridays (weekends and holidays are not included). The promotion will be valid until December 31, 2015.
