CityNews – On 15th October Chiang Mai Provincial Office and the Comptroller General’s Department announced that Chiang Mai had received 34,862.56 billion baht from the central government and disbursed 32,415.11 million baht, which accounted for 92.28% of the budget.
For investment expenditure, Chiang Mai received 7,195.37 million baht and disbursed 4,674.25 baht (64.96%).
Chiang Mai ranks number 11 among 76 cities in Thailand for the highest disbursement. It’s also one of only six cities which received more than 5 billion baht for investment expenditure. Chiang Mai ranks second after Songkla, and followed by Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Chonburi and Ubonratchathani.
For 2014, it is estimated that Chiang Mai will disburse at least 82% of the investment expenditure budget and 95% of the overall budget.
