CityNews – On 7th November the Chiang Mai Municipality Office and their related departments met to discuss their rescue and safety plans during the upcoming Yee Peng Festival, which will take from 15th – 18th November.
The training included a mock-situation where a 5.6 Richter earthquake took place and many people were injured as a result. Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) was summoned to deal with the emergency. Another practice situation involved a building on fire, where the fire department carried out their usual procedures.
The practice went on smoothly with co-operation from many different departments in Chiang Mai, including the Chiang Mai Traffic Police, the Public Health Office, the Provincial Electricity Authority, the Flying Division 41, the Army 33, and many local hospitals.
