CityNews – The number of dengue infections throughout Thailand last week numbered around 2,000, which is an improvement on previous weeks. Speaking for the Public Health Minister Pradit Sintavanarong said on October 21st that he expected the number to drop to 1,000 a week soon.

The Health Ministry said in June that the number of infections would reach 100,000, the most cases ever reported in one year. The actual figure given now is way higher. Thailand’s National News Bureau reported today that the total number of cases this year so far is around 135,000, with 126 dead.
