CityNews – A protest is being planned by a group of Chiang Mai citizens on April 29th in response to the judicial officers suggesting a ten year grace period before a decision is made.
The gathering will be on April 29th at 8am at Tha Pae Gate.
In response to the suggestion by the judicial officers that they should be allowed to live in the homes for ten years first, then to have a discussion about the future of the residences after that has sparked anger in local citizens who are campaigning against the buildings, demanding they are demolished and the land returned to the forest.
The network of Chiang Mai citizens who are tirelessly campaigning against the residences have arranged the gathering which is aimed at showing support for demolishing the residences that have been dubbed ‘the scar of Doi Suthep’.
Attendees are encouraged to wear a green ribbon in support of the movement.
