Another three new patients suspected of new coronavirus in Chiang Mai

CityNews – 26th January 2020, Charoenrit Sa-nguangsat, Chiang Mai governor, held a meeting at the Chiang Mai International Airport with related authorities to update the media on the situation of the coronavirus.

He confirmed that no actual coronavirus in Chiang Mai carriers have been found, just only suspected patients which mostly have turned out to have been suffering from other diseases.  Public Health Office of Chiang Mai is closely monitoring the situation updates the official media around 10am daily.  Dr. Worachet Techarak, director of Nakorn Ping Hospital said that from the now-nine suspected patients to date, six of them had the common cold while the three new patients are being tested as we speak.

People are asked to take care of themselves by wearing sanitary masks, and gloves when necessary.  If some symptoms occur such as coughing, sore throat, running nose, and difficulty in breathing, one should go to a doctor immediately.

Meanwhile, Amornrak Chumsai Na Ayuddhaya, director of Chiang Mai airport said that CNX has cancelled all direct flights from Wuhan and thermos-scan machines were installed to check all tourists from China.

Updated: Previous announcement were made to Citylife from Chiang Mai Public Health Office.  Today we phoned headquarter of Public Health Office in Bangkok and has an update that there are three tourist patients really affected by the virus in central part of Thailand, now under quarantine treatment.
