Amnesty International Media Awards for Thailand 2013

CityNews – Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 3 million supporters, members and activists in over 150 countries and territories who campaign to end grave abuses of human rights. With the support of the media and the general public, AI Thailand has organized the Media Awards 2013 for outstanding work broadcast or published between 1 October 2012 and 30 September 2013.

Following the judges’ evaluation of all nominated entries, the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 23 January 2014 at the Benjarong Ballroom, located on the 3rd floor of tne Royal Benja Hotel Bangkok, Sukhumvit Soi 5, at 14.00 – 16.00. The awards will be presented by Mr.Anand Panyarachun, former Prime Minister and UNICEF Ambassador for Thailand. A presentation will be given by Dr.Somkiat Onwimon, news anchor and Communication Arts scholar, on “Media: role in promoting the culture of respect for human rights in society”.
