CityNews – M-Plus Foundation and Same Sex Couple Network walked from Thapae Gate to Chiang Mai District Office to apply for marriage licenses at 9 a.m. on February 14th.
After the couples presented the officers with proper documentation, they denied them the marriage license citing the 10th Civil and Commercial Code issued in 1990, Chapter 2 Article 1448, stating that the license is given to a man and a woman over the age of 17.
Pongpeera Pattapeerapong, the M-Plus manager, told Daily News that the annual campaign is to support the freedom in marriage movement in Thailand and to pressure the government to revise the laws.
