CityNews – On 3rd April at 6 p.m., the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) arrested five suspects: Sang Sasa (66) of Narathiwat, Maya Sa-I (51) of Bangkok, Saomchai Tami (26), Somnuek Sakolwatchara (26), and Thanaech Sae-hor (33) from Chiang Mai with 50,000 methamphetamine pills in their possession.
The arrest was a result of a set up in the parking lot of Big C Hang Dong.
The police had received a tip-off that there would be a drug caravan coming from the south into Chiang Mai. They set up a series of small drug buys until they came across the three pickup trucks in Big C Hong Dong parking Lot. After inspecting the vehicles, they found 25 bundles of yaba concealed in the spare tires. All five suspects are now awaiting trial.
