The deputy governor of Chiang Mai has announced that the province will be seeking a 2.1 billion baht budget from the central government to once and for all solve the Mae Kha Canal problem.

This cluster of projects will begin in 2023 and take five years to complete, says the deputy governor.

The aim is for the canal to have clean and fresh water flowing year round and for the canal to become a part of the historical attraction of the city.

Chiang Mai also has a further 3,565 projects on the pipeline with 1,690 having been approved for the 2023 budget.
