Welcome to Chiang Mai Coffee Culture Review. This new Citynews blog is dedicated to cafes and coffee and wants to soothe your caffeine cravings and keep you in the know.
Every week we explore the back alleys and sois of Chiang Mai, visit new cafes and sometimes drink bad coffee so you don’t have to!
For the first post, I want to introduce readers to one of my favourite cafes – Goat Coffee.
Goat coffee company has been serving up great cappuccinos since 2011 but due to a few shop relocations they have been under the cafe radar. Now with two fixed locations in Chiang Mai, they are starting to become recognised as a place to get good coffee and relax, work online with their fast wifi or hide in the air-conditioning from the summer heat.
Coffee – The coffee at Goat has a strong Arabica taste and offers a kick (as coffee should). The baristas are well trained and make great lattes and cappuccinos, foaming the milk just right. If ordering an iced coffee drink be aware that they are sweet so make sure to ask for no sugar if you like strong tasting coffee.
Cafe – Goat coffee on Nimmanhamin Soi 9 is one part of a bar complex. The inside décor is vintage meets modern. Visiting in the morning means the is the strange feeling that the cafe is overflowing into other buildings, but with soft plush seats, you will soon forget about the outside world and relax. There are a range of cakes on offer, a work bar overlooking the soi outside and in after 5pm you can order beer at the adjacent bars.  The second location is a on the Hang Dong road and mainly frequented by locals in that area.  The cafe is smaller but sunny and the staff are shy but friendly!

Location: Nimmanhamin road Soi 9 & Pao Pao plaza Hang Dong roadOpen: 9:00 – 19:00
