Last year saw two giant hornbills released into the Jae Son National Park of Lampang in an effort to return biodiversity to Thailand’s forests and this week two more were released into Doi Chiang Dao National Park.
There have been no giant hornbills spotted in the wild for over twenty years and a network of organisations are closely monitoring the behaviour of the two pairs to see how they fare on their own.
To date the pair which was released in late October in Lampang are doing well, said the representative.
