CityNews – On the morning of March 15th, a water pipe cracked and caused a 3 metre tall fountain of water bursting out of Chotana Road, in front of the Chiang Mai government centre.
The burst pip gushed out onto the road with high pressure for over an hour before the water was temporary turned off and repair work could begin on the broken pipe.
The road was closed while the water was flowing and when repair work was being carried out, causing a traffic jam of over one kilometre.
The road has now been reopened buy repair work is expected to finish around 9pm this evening after several more damaged pipes were found in the area.
