Chiang Mai’s largest flood since 2011 appears to be receding, according to all reports. From its highest level at 4.65m two nights ago, levels have now dropped below critical levels, which are at 3.70m, down to 3.57 at 11am this morning.

Many hundreds of households are still flooded and rescue service and municipal authorities are traversing affected areas to check in on the vulnerable, they say.

All water pumps available are being deployed in affected areas and unit less more heavy rains arrive Chiang Mai should be dried out in the next few days.
