Vegetarian festival flopped this year due to bad timing, says vendors

Vendors across the city have complained that this year’s Vegetarian Festival has performed badly when compared to previous years, blaming things on the slow economy, the fact that the festival was held after lent and before the implementation of the Half Half Plus populist programme.

Sales were slow, said numerous vendors of the annual festival as the festival’s date was post lent this year, traditionally a period of time when many go vegetarian.

“Most of our customers this year were regular customers? There were few new ones,” a noodle vendor told CityNews.
