Santiago, Chile – November 19th, 2019 – The 6D It’s Now campaign has launched the largest global chain of climate actions in history. On December 6th, 2019, more than 600 non-governmental organizations will carry out reforestation, renewable energy, waste management, ocean protection, sustainable food production, and water efficiency projects in more than 90 countries around the world.

What is so important about the 6th of December? The United Nations will be simultaneously carrying out the most important climate change conference of the year, the COP25. This year, the conference will be held in Madrid, Spain, where world leaders and representatives from over 190 countries will be present to discuss how to respond to the climate crisis.

The Chilean NGO’s Cultiva and Avina have spearheaded this ambitious movement, in addition to Cultiva’s commitment to plant 30,000 native trees in the capital of Santiago. Their overarching goal is to make the climate emergency that the planet is facing visible and to show our world leaders that facing the crisis requires concrete climate actions and collaboration at every level of society.

Bye Bye Plastic Bags, an NGO based in Bali, has committed to doing an environmental cleanup at a local school with the students. Warm Heart Worldwide, based in Thailand, has declared to distribute biochar to local community members in the Chiang Mai region.

We invite any individual, NGO, school, or government organization to join! If you would like more information, visit the website www.6ditsnow.org or contact Eleanore Henderson at [email protected].
