A pickup truck lost control and crashed into high-voltage power poles on Nong Ho Road in Chang Phueak, resulting in 52 power poles collapse in a row. Among them, 24 poles carried 115 kilovolts. The damage extended over approximately one kilometer, affecting around 20 houses.
Fortunately, no residents in the area were injured. However, both passengers in the pickup truck were seriously injured. Rescue workers performed CPR on the passengers before transporting them to the hospital, but later the passenger passed away. The driver remains in serious condition.
The deceased was Boonrit, a 27-year-old man also known as Rod Bus The Voice, who was a contestant on The Voice Thailand Season 6 in 2017.
The Chiang Mai Electricity Authority is currently mobilizing personnel to remove the fallen power poles and restore traffic flow. Afterward, they will restore the electrical system as quickly as possible.
