Three girls, aged 7 to 9 who had gone missing from a school dormitory in Mae Ai District since the 3rd have been found, healthy and well.
The three girls were found after an extensive search by the school district, parents as well as soldiers from the Mae Ai camp, along with rescue workers and volunteers. Social media was also widely used to ask for help finding the girls.
At 5.45pm on the 4th the girls were found healthy and well in a forest near the Malika moat in Malika sub-district, Mae Ai District, complaining of hunger and exhaustion after a night out in the forest.
According to the girls, they encouraged one another to run away from the dorm around 1am of the 3rd of August, after all saying that they were homesick and didn’t want to stay in the boarding school.
