Thailand to host the 2022 APEC Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE) Meeting

Mrs.Jintana Chanbamrung Director-General of the Department of Women’s Affairs and Family Development said that The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of the Department of Women Affairs and Family Development will host the first meeting of the APEC Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE), on the 15th and 16th of June 2022. PPWE aims to advance the economic integration of women in the APEC region and usually have two meetings in a year. There will be presentations and exchanges of experience across different functions and sectors on enhancing women economic participation. The meeting will also discuss the preparation for Thailand’s hosting of the APEC Women and the Economy Forum (WEF) and the High-Level Policy Dialogue on Women and the Economy (HLPDWE) in September 2022.

Environmentally Friendly Women’s Economic Empowerment is a key agenda for a balance and sustainable development. APEC Women and the Economy Forum (WEF) serves as a mechanism for empowering and increasing women’s participation in the APEC Region’s green economy, which leads to human development, reduced inequality, poverty, improved well-being, and a proclivity to invest in children’s nutrition, health, and education.
