Wat Cholpratarn, or Wat Hua Sai in Mae Rim is getting some publicity for its signs warning troublemakers of fines upwards of three times the cost of the fair, which is estimated at around 250,000 baht.
Whether this is in anyway enforceable is being ignored by villagers who are applauding this warning as they look forward to attending the large temple fair between 26th-28th January.
“If you have no money to spend don’t create trouble and fights or we will fine you three times the fair cost”, announces one of the signs.
Thousands are expected to attend this large fair and many local teens are expected to come and cause problems.
