The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) organised this event at the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO) Public Park, marking the first-ever stargazing experience held in a city park within Chiang Mai province.

NARIT brought dozens of various types of telescopes for everyone to enjoy observing stars and celestial objects in full. Last night participants could observe Saturn, the Pleiades star cluster, the Andromeda Galaxy, and more.

There was also a mobile astrophotography zone, perfect for content creators, allowing participants to capture photos of Saturn with their own phones. By simply pointing a phone camera through a telescope’s eyepiece, visitors could easily take impressive photos. In addition, there were many other astronomy-related activities, such as learning and exploring the night sky using the “NAPA Star Map” app by NARIT, listening to a special talk on “Do aliens really exist?”, and taking photos with giant inflatable planets.

For those who missed the event, NARIT also holds its annual “Stargazing Festival… Embracing the Cool Breeze”, running from November 2025 to May 2026. Residents of Chiang Mai and visitors can come stargazing every Saturday night at the Princess Sirindhorn AstroPark, free of charge.
