Tham Luang Mae Sap, also known locally as Rainbow Cave, is a striking natural attraction located within Khun Khan National Park in Samoeng Tai Subdistrict, Samoeng.
The limestone cave sits about 620 metres above sea level and extends roughly 144 metres inside. Its walls are distinguished by grey and white bands streaked with yellow, while the main chambers feature dramatic stalactites and stalagmites formed over more than a million years. The cave consists of four main chambers and is a dry, semi-active cave suited to nature lovers seeking a peaceful adventure.
Beyond the cave, the national park offers nature study trails totalling 3,420 metres, with 14 interpretation points guiding visitors through four forest types and along natural rock rapids. Khun Khan National Park is located 16 kilometres from Samoeng town and provides facilities including camping grounds, parking, hot-spring showers, and cooking areas. Just an hour and a half’s drive from the city centre.
