Power Cosumption Reaches New Peak

CityNews – Power demands in Bangkok have reached new heights as the temperature there and in several provinces has gone above 40 degree Celsius.

The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand revealed that on April 20th power consumption in Bangkok was at 29,680.3 megawatts, the highest from the previous peak which was on May 11th of last year at 29,618.8 megawatts. This is due to the air conditioning usage to combat the heat.

This past weekend at least five provinces have had temperatures reaching above 40 degree Celsius. Thoen District in Lampang was reportedly the hottest on the 21st at 43.5 degree Celsius. Loei province was a digit behind at 42.9 degree Celsius followed by Mae Hong Son, Tak, Phetchabun and Phrae.
