CityNews – On November 1, a store owner reported that a local in the same village that he knew used a fake 1,000 baht not to pay for his items.
63-year-old Thong Kong-ngam realised the banknote was counterfeit when he noticed the colour was darker and the texture was different from other banknotes.
He told police it was a man called Utit Utsa who paid for some ice and alcohol with the fake note.
When he realised he went to see Utit to ask him to pay with a genuine note but Utit had fled the area.
Police are still searching for the man.
