Long queues seeking help to register on Half Half Plus application

As the government launches its populist Half Half Plus programme across the nation, millions are rushing to register themselves for this privilege. Registration dates are available between 20th-26th October between 6am and 10pm.

According to the government public relations department, “The half-half plus co-payment programme allows registered individuals who buy goods from local shops to pay only half the price of their purchases, with the Government subsidising the other half, through the G-Wallet system, comprising the “Pao Tang” app for buyers and “Thung Ngoen” app for traders. The permitted purchases will not include alcoholic drinks, tobacco, or lottery tickets.

The target group covers 20 million participants aged 16 and over, who are Thai nationals and are not state welfare cardholders. Out of this number, taxpayers will receive 2,400 baht, with a daily spending cap of 200 baht, while non-taxpayers will receive 2,000 baht, with a daily spending cap of 200 baht.

Registration is open for traders and stores from 15th October to 19th December 2025 with spending allowed from 29th October to 31th December 2025, between 6am-11pm. Purchases of food and beverages via food delivery platforms, approved to join the programme, are allowed from 7th November to 31st December, between 6pm and 9pm.

Those who participated in phase 5 of the previous scheme will be required to confirm eligibility to participate in the programme through the Pao Tang app, and those who did not participate in phase 5 must register to join the scheme.”

Many citizens, mainly by the elderly, have been struggling to join the application and Krung Thai bank, Khuang Singh branch has allocated extra staff just to help people with the registration process.
