Prem International School’s Artist Residency Thailand (ARThailand) has been shortlisted for Teaching Initiative of the Year in the Tes Awards for International Schools 2025.

This recognition celebrates the ARThailand programme, where professional artists and thought leaders collaborate with students and teachers to inspire creativity and interdisciplinary learning. The programme brings the IB philosophy to life by nurturing curiosity, inquiry, and global-mindedness. ARThailand reflects Prem’s belief that engaging directly with visiting practitioners empowers students to think critically and understand their place in an interconnected world.

Visiting practitioners to ARThailand include concert pianist Myriam Ayari, philosopher Dr. Skye Cleary, soprano Caron McFadden, and author and policy-maker Paula Di Perna.

“Being recognised by the Tes Awards is an affirmation that, in an age of AI and global complexity, the future relies on schools ensuring that our young people can adapt, collaborate, and think critically and creatively,” said Alex Soulsby, Creative Director at Prem.

Building on the prestige of the Tes Schools Awards in the UK, which are often referred to as the Oscars of Education, these international awards showcase leaders in international education, demonstrating creativity and educational excellence in diverse contexts.

At Prem, creativity is a cornerstone of learning. Through ARThailand, the school continues to model arts-integrated, future-focused education.
