CityNews – A hungry Korean man was arrested in a popular department store after he stole cheese and cold cut bacon from the supermarket to try and save money.
The man, identified as 25-year-old Kim Numdik from Korea, was arrested by police after he was caught stealing cheese and bacon valued at around 2000 baht.
He confessed to police that he was hungry and took the items on a whim, saying he really wanted to eat the food but also wanted to save money.
He has been traveling in Chiang Mai since May 12.
He was fined and after returning the goods, let go.
