The meeting relayed directives from the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command, instructing all provinces to accelerate readiness measures including clearing waterway obstructions, dredging canals and improving drainage in high-risk areas. Agencies have been told to have personnel, machinery and emergency response plans ready for immediate deployment.
Three 24-hour hotlines have been designated for public use: 1784 (flood-related emergencies and assistance), 1567 (general complaints and incident reporting via the Damrongtham Centre) and 1300 (assistance for vulnerable groups).
On water management, the governor cautioned against complacency given that storm intensity varies, and called for close monitoring alongside timely public warnings. He also noted that flood management must be balanced with storing sufficient water reserves for next year’s dry season.
A full command centre drill simulating flood, flash flood and landslide scenarios is scheduled for 11th June 2026 to test systems and inter-agency coordination.
