CityNews – According to reports online, the champion buffalo that recently won first prize in the Lanna buffalo contest in Chiang Mai and valued at 5 million baht, died on March 11 after a stomach infection.
The buffalo, known as Bai Yok, contracted a stomach virus soon after visiting Chiang Mai for the National Agricultural Fair on March 2.
Vets were called and all efforts were made to save the animal, but unfortunately if died on the night of March 11, among its owners.
A full Buddhist ceremony will be held later this year.
