CityNews – Celebrities joined together in the Global March for Elephants and Rhinos 2016 on September 24th, a movement to promote fair treatment of both animals and demanding a stop in ivory trade.
Actors including Benjasiri Wattana, Ananda Everingham and Nathalie Davies joined hundreds of locals as they protested from Three Kings Monument to Tha Pae Gate.
Thailand’s customs department seizes more elephant ivory per year than any other country.
The Global March for Elephants and Rhinos 2016 took place across Southeast Asia at the same time, with large events in Surin, Thailand, Burma, Laos and Cambodia.
