A pickup truck accident occurred when it lost control and crashed into a roadside electric pole in front of Him Kong Restaurant on Nong Ho Road in Chang Phueak, causing over 10 large high-voltage power poles to collapse across nearly one kilometer. The fallen poles damaged nearby houses and shops and blocked traffic. A fire also broke out at Him Kong Restaurant shortly after the crash.
Two men, both estimated to be between 30 and 35 years old, were injured. The passenger, who was seated on the driver’s side, was found unconscious with serious injuries. Emergency responders performed CPR at the scene and rushed him to the hospital. The driver remained conscious but suffered from abrasions and chest tightness. He received first aid before being transported to the hospital.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control within approximately 10 minutes. No additional injuries were reported from the fire.
