Doi Luang Chiang Dao park authorities told CityNews that they are very happy at the overall health of Chiang Dao National Park’s ecosystem, saying that 11 types of wild animals have been caught on camera over the past eight months, a great sign, they say, of the overall health of the area.
Motion triggering cameras have even captured a leopard wandering around at night recently.
Through efforts by authorities and volunteer groups of adding artificial salt locks, monitoring wildlife and other conservation efforts since February this year, there have now been confirmed sightings of goral, serow, barking deer, wild boar, leopard cat and other wild animals.
