The Superintendent of Chang Phueak Police Station revealed that investigators are currently collecting evidence to prosecute the driver on charges of reckless driving causing damage to property and reckless driving resulting in death.
In cases involving damage to government and public property, if the insurance coverage proves insufficient, the victims may pursue a civil lawsuit. Investigators will also facilitate negotiations between the parties involved.
If the investigation determines that the accident occurred during the course of work, the employer may also be held responsible for the damages. Investigators will conduct a follow-up interview with the driver before finalizing the case and forwarding it to the court.
Meanwhile, affected villagers expressed concern about the culprit’s ability to provide adequate compensation due to the extent of the damage. They called on government agencies to offer support, particularly in repairing and restoring damaged homes and property.
