The cleanup of residents’ homes and the entire waterway at Ban Pang Ung in Mae Chaem, after the recent flood and landslide, has made progress.

Forty households in disaster-prone areas have requested relocation. The Forest Resource Management Office No. 1, Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Irrigation Office, Chiang Mai Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, along with other relevant agencies, are surveying a new 15-rai area in Ban Pang Ung to determine its suitability for relocation. If found appropriate, new homes will be constructed.

All organizations are urged to inspect the village’s water and electricity systems. Long-term solutions, especially the mental health of villagers and compensation for deaths and damaged homes, must be expedited to help restore normal life.
