Vorreiter founded the Akha Oral Tradition School, two years ago, as Cultural Crossroads Asia‘s first outreach project in an ethnic village. Every week six master Akha musicians share their knowledge of songs, stories, musical instruments, and instrumental craftsmanship with a class of twenty-two Akha students.

Now, in an effort to inspire these young students (ages 12-16) to preserve and sustain their own culture, they invited Fulbright Scholar Dr. Lisa Roberts to teach a Museum Curatorship Course over five weekends. Students actively learned to collect, document, photograph, and create displays of their traditional artifacts.
