The abbot of Wat Sukhaodeeanamwaram in Northern Samoeng District is currently being investigated after allegedly ordering a man to shoot at a temple dog, causing injury. The police and relevant authorities visited the temple earlier today to investigate following claims that a dog had been shot at on the temple grounds.
A man was questioned and admitted that he had indeed shot the dog with his licensed gun, injuring it, and said that the abbot had told him to. The reason was not clear.
Authorities are investigating the incident for animal cruelty.
