CityNews – A Thai commercial from telecommunications company True Move has gone viral, and judging by the thousands of comments left under the ad it has also caused floods of tears all over the globe.

“Giving is best”

The commercial, which leaves the viewer’s heartstrings rendered under the influence of the telecommunications giant, tells us that “giving is best” and that miracles actually can happen, even in a country where one family are worth 2.1% of the gross domestic product.

The well-made commercial is a product of the CP (Charoen Pokphand) group whose CEO is Dhanin Chearvanont, the richest man in Thailand and SE Asia according to Forbes, worth an estimated 14.3 billion dollars. Considering Thailand’s GDP was 356 billion dollars in 2012, the Thai public couldn’t be blamed for asking if True don’t practice what they preach. Nonetheless, the lugubrious ad has seemingly hoodwinked millions of viewers in the west who have not seen through the brazen hypocrisy of True Move and its owners. Instead, the majority of comments on the video extol the commercial for its humanity and ask why more people can’t be like this. In terms of marketing acumen, True Move are a head of their game.
