CityNews – A Burmese man who had escaped police custody has been arrested after police tracked him down yesterday evening, May 5.

The 26-year-old man is yet to be identified, but was found to be in possession of a fake Thai ID card with the name Nikorn Panthanawut.

He escaped police custody in April, after he was arrested for theft.

When he was removed from a cell to be processed, he punched the police officer on duty and escaped downtown.

However, yesterday evening police managed to track the man to an apartment in the Changpuek sub-district.

He is awaiting prosecution.
