Man Allegedly Commits Murder after being Pressed for Debt

CityNews – A man was murdered after allegedly pressing for payment owed.

In March this year the body of 34 year old Sombun Naunsang was found at a bridge in Mae Feak, San Sai District. The man was shot in the neck and body. The suspect is Kampon Charoenphorn, 35, who had borrowed 180,000 baht from the deceased. According to statements from the family of the deceased, Sombun had been pressing the suspect to pay his debt but never succeeded. When the body of Sombun was discovered, the suspect disappeared. Police were able to track down Kampon and found him on April 23rd at his resident in Tha Ton, Mae Ai District. When police arrived, Kampon reportedly tried to flee into the forest. Police also found a gun at his residence. However, Kampon has since denied the allegation.
