CityNews – Boonsong Teriyapirom, the Minister of Commerce revealed that the Ministry of Commerce and Department of Foreign Trade would arrange Thailand’s Rice Convention this year under the name ‘Pushing ASEAN Towards the World’s Rice Hub’ from 26th – 28th May at Chiang Mai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
At the conference, there will be over 500 representatives from 40 different countries who are involved in the global trade of rice including government representatives, rice importers, academic scholars and international press. Besides the conference, a rice exhibition, tour and business negotiation will also take place.
The minister added that this conference will show the efficiency of Thailand being the leader in rice exporters as well as being the main source of information exchange and ideas. This will also help build better relationships with rice trade. This is a great opportunity to show that Thailand is the centre of production and trade of rice in ASEAN and in the world.
