The field hospital set up to house the kindergarten children, their teachers and parents who were tested positive, has now closed, everyone returning home after 14 days’ quarantine.

A total of 18 children and eight adults were tested three times, each time testing negative, before being declared clear of the virus.

The governor of Chiang Mai officiated over the closure of the field hospital earlier today, congratulating the medical team on their efforts.

Laa Jandee, 46, smiled as he picked up his three year old son whom he hadn’t seen for two weeks, only receiving news of his wellbeing from teachers quarantined with him. “I won’t be taking my children anywhere for a while, not until this outbreak is under control,” he said.
