Over 200 employees and visitors who had been at Riverside Restaurant between the 3rd and 5th of January had Covid-19 tests and headed into quarantine yesterday following the announcement by the public health office that two employees and one guest of the famous restaurant were confirmed to have the virus.

The recent spread of the virus, believed to have been spread by partygoers over the New Year period, has brought Chiang Mai’s total number of people with the virus since the start of the pandemic to 63.

Chiang Mai is one of 38 provinces which are being closely monitored as at risk, labelled yellow by the public health office, though not one of the most high risk provinces, which are labelled red.
