The spread of the Covid-19 virus across Chiang Mai is not diminishing following our longest and greatest outbreak to date, averaging over 300 newly infected cases each day.

According to the Covid Response Centre, there were 436 newly infected people yesterday and three deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in Chiang Mai from the Covid virus to 78. There are also currently 93 people in critical condition.

Markets appear to be the main spreaders of the virus with a new cluster at Muang Mai Market being confirmed.

In total 1,262,945 people, out of the population of 1,729,353 have been vaccinated at least once. This is 73% of the population of the province and authorities say that we are on target for 100% inoculation by the end of the month.
