A look at foreigners helping the local community during COVID-19

Settle in Abroad, a company based out of Chiang Mai is raising $10,000 USD to help Thailand during this COVID time. 100% of all donations go directly to helping Thai people sustain their businesses, feed their families and support local foundations that provide education, housing, and food to those who need it the most.

Settle in Abroad has released a new video where they bought all the food in 10 local food stalls in Pong Noi, Chiang Mai and donated it all. They fed at least 2,000 people in one day. Their goal is to raise $10,000 USD to help Thailand.

The CEO and Founder of Settle in Abroad, Amanda Gedney, has been living in Chiang Mai for the past 5 years. She told us that the reason she does business is so she can help others. The kindness of the locals is what made her fall in love with Thailand and she always wants to find ways to give back to them.

In the past seven days, they have raised $600 USD in donations from this video. That $600 will be used to make cooking care packages, which will be given out to the locals of Koh Chang on Friday, May 21. As the donations continue to come in, food and care packages will be donated throughout the country. The money will also go directly to local foundations that support Thai people.

Settle in Abroad has helped people relocate to Thailand since 2017. They have many services for foreigners to teach English in Thailand, enroll in Thai language institutes, volunteer, retire, and get the best visa for them to live in Thailand long term.
