Press Release

Bangkok, 22 July 2019 – Mr. Tiwa York CEO of Kaidee, released the latest figures for the popular online marketplace. “We’ve made big investments in improving the platform for our users, and I’m happy to say the strategy is working,” Mr. York said. “More than 15 million people used Kaidee during the first half of 2019, with the total number of visits topping 144 million. More than 700,000 items were traded on the platform with a total value of 22 billion Thai baht.”

“We’ve had 3.7 million new listings during the year so far. Most items sell very quickly. Over the past 6 months, an item is sold on Kaidee every 22 seconds, making us the best place in Thailand for buyers and sellers to connect.”

Mr. York highlighted some new features on the platform. “We’ve worked hard to improve the quality of our service. Our website is twice as fast now as it was at the start of the year. We’ve updated our systems to ensure ads are live as quickly as possible. We also closely monitor the listings that go live to provide confidence in Kaidee as a safe place to do business.”

He also announced the launch of a new feature that allows buyers to save searches. This new feature notifies people when new searches matching their older ones become available. “It also removes the need to retype a search when you visit, making the entire experience faster and smoother.”

RodKaidee, Kaidee’s popular vehicle platform, is expanding its partnerships in the rapidly growing second-hand vehicle market. “Buyers can apply for car loans on our platform thanks to a partnership with Krungsri Auto,” Mr. York said. “We are also expanding our relationships with other organizations involved in the market.”

Asked about FarmKaidee, which was launched last year, Mr. York said; “I’m really pleased with the progress of FarmKaidee. It’s growing continuously and had a trading value of over 107 million baht in the first half of the year.”

“Kaidee is Thailand’s largest online marketplace,” Mr. York said. “We want to improve the lives of all Thai people by giving them a convenient, safe and easy place to trade. We serve everybody, from business people to ordinary citizens looking to earn some extra money. We are proud to give Thais a place to transfer their used items, help reduce waste and encourage the ‘reduce, recycle, reuse’ mindset.”
