15th June 2020, the public relations office of AIS announced that there has been a surge in online crimes and urges its customers to take care.
“There have been cases lately when people have been purchasing goods online and a follow up phone call, ostensibly from an operator has asked them to share their OTP code,” said the announcement. “We would like to reassure our customers that our employees never ask for the OTP code. For any transaction. The OTP code is like your ATM password. It is for your eyes only.”
